Bacalar is a PUEBLO MAGICO (or magical town) in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico, just 215 miles southwest of Cancun. It’s known for its Lagoon of 7 Colors, a stunning freshwater lagoon with shockingly turquoise waters and endless opportunities to cool off under the hot Mexican sun.
The Bacalar lagoon, also know as the Lagoon of the 7 colors, owes its nickname to its seven shades of blue due to the different depths of water.
With its 45 km length, it is the largest lake in the lagoon that contains some islands and 4 cenotes.
It is the main tourist attraction of Bacalar where you can do many activities: kayaking, sailing, catamaran, swimming, snorkeling and up paddle.
